I hiked 14.4 miles to the next shelter today. I like being the early bird because the shelters are first come first serve. However, I've been getting bored lately so I decided to take a long break before I got to the Tom Leonard Lean-To. I think I might do this from now on. On the trail today I had to walk along a mountain ridge. It was four miles and I couldn't wait to get off of it because it was slippery.
